The 'Educator in the Loop' Patent
Inventing a mechanism to establish an educator, AI, student collaboration loop that extends the educator's influence into the digital space and improves learning personalization and student outcomes.
It all started when...
We identified a critical failure mode in EdTech AI: 'Teacher Blindness' and 'Pedagogical Drift.' In traditional deployments, students interacted with AI 'in the wild,' creating a disconnect where the teacher had no visibility into cognitive blockers, and the AI had no awareness of the student's physical state (e.g., having a bad day).
My Role
The Architecture: I architected the 'Educator in the Loop' (EITL) framework. Unlike standard 'Human in the Loop' (used for training), this is a real-time operational layer that synchronizes the teacher's physical intuition with the AI's digital persona.
The Steering Loop (Physical → Digital): I architected a mechanism where teachers input physical classroom observations (e.g., 'Alex doesn't know how to work in groups') directly into the student profile. These inputs update the 'Rules of Engagement' via in-context learning—dynamically altering the system prompt to shift the AI's tone and guidance mechanism.
The Background Agent (The 'Watchdog'): I designed a background analysis agent that scans conversation logs to identify 'at-risk' students (stuck/frustrated) or 'excelling' students (bored).
The Reflection Loop (Digital → Human): I built the workflow around the Student Profile. Teachers can view the latest analysis or trigger a new one. The system generates AI-Recommended Steering Rules, which the teacher can Review, Modify, or Reject—or they can add their own manual observations to shape the learning path.
Results
Patent Pending (2025): Officially filed for the unique 'Physical-to-Digital Classroom State Synchronization' method.
Solved 'Teacher Blindness': Gave educators a dive into student interaction with AI without requiring them to read thousands of chat logs or sacrificing student privacy.
Differentiation: Became the primary defensible moat against generic wrapper competitors by centering the educator.
